Privacy & Safety

Connect Ceylon is a tourism marketplace operated by Seal Maritime Services. It introduces travellers to local tourist guides and transport providers in Sri Lanka. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we will never ask you for.

What we will never ask you for

• Your card number, CVV or card PIN. Card payments, where offered, go through PayHere's own secure checkout page and never through a form on this site.
• One-time passcodes (OTPs), online banking logins or your email account password.
• Passport scans or national identity numbers from travellers.
• That you download or install any app, browser extension, plug-in or "security update". Connect Ceylon works entirely in your web browser.
• Payments by email, WhatsApp or SMS. Guides and transport providers settle the platform commission only from inside their own signed-in account on connectceylon.com.

If you get a message claiming to be from Connect Ceylon that asks for any of these, it is not from us. Do not reply or pay, and let the administration desk know through the Plan My Tour page or your message box.

What we collect and why

• Travellers: name, email address, contact number and country of residence, so that guides and transport providers you contact can reply to you.
• Local guides: contact details, qualifications, languages, daily rate and a profile photo. Name, languages and photo are published in the guide directory once an administrator approves the profile.
• Transport providers: contact details, driving licence, vehicle details and photos, and revenue licence and insurance documents. Licence and insurance documents are used only to verify the provider and are never published.
• Tour plan requests: the details you type into the Plan My Tour form, used only to prepare your itinerary and quote.
• Messages: conversations are visible only to the people taking part and to the Connect Ceylon administrators who moderate the platform.

The password you choose when registering protects your message box. Please create one just for Connect Ceylon. We store it only in a hashed form and cannot read it.

We do not sell your information and do not share it with advertisers. You can ask us to correct or delete your details at any time through the administration desk.

Uploaded files

Uploads are limited to genuine JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF or PDF files. Only approved profile and vehicle photos are ever shown publicly. Every registration and every listing is reviewed by an administrator before it appears on the site, and listings that break these rules are removed.
